Knee injuries in car accidents occur with great frequency and symptoms usually involve popping or other noises which can be audible when the knee is moved. Knees injuries often occur when the knee hits the dash and there is an initial bruise. A MRI is an important tool used to identify a meniscus tear which can be full or partial. Meniscus tears may impair and hinder one’s walking without a noticeable limp or gait impairment.
Meniscus tear injury settlements may range from several thousand dollars to $75,000 or $100,000 or even more as each case is very fact specific. It is best to check with an injury lawyer if you are wondering what your case is worth. Meniscus tear injury settlement values will depend upon many factors which include whether there was a knee reported problem at the car accident crash scene or how soon after the car accident it was reported. Other meniscus tear injury settlement values will differ depending upon whether there is surgery and whether there are residual symptoms and if walking or running is impeded in the future.
Age also plays a role as well as prior reported knee issues in meniscus tear injury cases in Oregon and Washington state. In handling these cases over 15 years of injury law work I know that these cases get very complicated because they do tend to end up with high value injury settlement if the case is worked up properly. A skilled attorney should be usually the latest technology to get all the finer points across to the insurance and the jury if it goes that route.

Lacerations and cuts can be caused from window glass and/or sliding glass doors. Glass may shatter for a variety of reasons including improper installation, loud noises, and even explosions such as illegal fireworks. Serious scars frequently result from cut glass injury cases.
The most serious cut glass laceration case I handled involved a client who received serious wounds from a sliding glass door which shattered because an illegal firework struck the glass door she was standing next to. Thus causing her to suffer deep wounds including lacerations and cuts. We brought a homeowners insurance claim and recovered a generous money settlement on the cut glass injury fireworks case.
On any firework injury case the key legal issue is whether the firework exploder was using illegal fireworks and also whether they were negligent in deploying the fireworks outside or inside the normal safety zone of the bystanders.

Whether the car crash accident involved a death or a physical injury (with a police officer) there are important laws which come into play when presenting any personal injury case or wrongful death case. Under Oregon law a police officer individually is give a form of immunity for actions like driving their police car in the scope and course of their duty. Whether a police department is immune is another question as in certain cases a department’s guidelines which may or may not have been filed in a particular case were followed.
Another question to ask in any car crash involving a law enforcement officer is whether the police were in pursuit at the exact time of the crash. Most cases situations will afford full immunity to police in chase cases unless their was wanton or willful facts. Whether a police officer is immune is a different question from whether other driver would be on the hook for negligence even if there was a police chase. Oregon law now requires that all driver pull over into an outer lane away from the stop if it occurs on a two way road.
Lastly a short notice to the state or county or lesser governmental unit will be mandatory and not doing so timely may void your case and whatever you could have received.
