Each summer in Oregon there are tragic deaths of minors and adults who die or suffer brain injury because of a near drowning event. These injuries can take place in a river, lake, or swimming pool.
For any drowning case or near drowning event the property owner or any adult who brought the minor child injury victim to the site may be liable for settlement injury compensation. Drowning or near drowning cases on public lands may be denied because of state recreational use statutes which prohibit injury claims in certain cases if the injury event during the course and scope of recreational use while on government land.
With any near drowning cases involving brain damage consultation with neurologists and neurophyschologists to evaluate the severity and permanence of brain damage is important.

Closed head injuries from blunt force trauma such as; objects thrown from bleachers, homes, highway overpasses and any area which is higher in elevation than the area of the injury victim occur with great frequency in Oregon state and Washington state. Many blunt force injury cases involve significant long term injury and in recent years such accident victims benefit from the aggressive emergency room medical wonders which have occurred in recent years.
A person injured by blunt force whether struck by a rock, stone, shot put and other hard objects may suffer a long term head injury. With any closed head injury case in Oregon state and Washington state seeing the right doctor is critical to get the best recovery possible and to later ensure the highest money award be it in settlement or having the case tried in court.
One blunt force injury case I recall involved a student at a private school who was struck by a shot put which fell from a much higher level onto this young man’s head. If the brunt force trauma occurs within the Portland Public School system there are educational counselors who are available to help with the child counseling and readjustment following any serious trauma like a serious closed head injury case.
With any blunt force injury case preserving evidence and getting statement from witnesses is very important and the quality and timeliness of the investigation will certainly shape the eventual outcome of the injury case.

Anyone injured in a car accident in Oregon State or Washington State who ends up with a fusion from back surgery has a permanent injury. The settlement or verdict should include an appropriate level of compensation because such a condition does not go away.
On most back spine fusion surgeries one’s range of motion is usually impaired. There are many degrees of impairment. When impairment affects one’s ability to work and continue to work in the future vocational assessment is a very effect way to get future monies for lost of earnings.
To get the most money and biggest injury settlement on your back fusion surgery case a doctor will give a disability impairment rating and this will play a critical role in how much any injury victim gets for a pain and suffering award.
