Recently I blogged about recent 2010 statistics showing low death rates compared to prior year but also just read that while the car accident mortality rate is the lowest since they started recording statistics in 1925 what is striking is that the 2010 motor vehicle statistics reveal pedestrian death have risen 36% and this would include people in Oregon injured when walking biking or are on transit such as Tri Met.

Just came across new stats from USDOT stats which show the rate of traffic deaths on Oregon in the state of Oregon have reached their lowest point in history last year (as of 2010 year end). The reduction on wrongful deaths in Oregon from the stats appears due to higher seat belt use and more aggressive enforcement of drunk driving laws and the recession.
The stats show that Oregon traffic death fell 9.4% from 416 in 2008 to 377 in 2009 in the state of Oregon. Comparing Oregon’s traffic d3eaths to Washington state show a similar reduction as Washington fatalities dropped from 521 to 492 which is a 5.6 decline.

One thing I have noticed in recent years with regard to insurers, and I’m talking all of the auto insurers I’ve dealt with over 20 years, is that those adjusters with the most seniority seem to be from three companies in particular and I will identify them here: Country Insurance, Ameriprise, and State Farm.
