I was involved in a car accident in November last year where another driver pulled straight out of a side road on to the main road that i was driving along and hit my car, causing my vehicle to spin in the road. I am currently seeking personal injury compensations but this all new to me so I would value some help on how much I should ask for.

I was fully stopped at a stop light behind a truck. In an instant, I was struck from behind by a car and the impact trajected my jeep and struck the parked truck infront of me. Eventhough I was restrained by a seat belt, I was thrown forward and both my kneees struck the narrow projected instument panel sides. I was thrown back again and struck my neck against the low head rest. My head was wiped violently and I saw stars and ringing sensation in my ears for a brief moment. I was dizzy for a brief moment and broke into panic sweat and my heart pumped very fast and I gasped for breath. The impact force was great enough to deform my seat that will not return to full upright position.

MRI shows meniscus tear and extrusion on both knees. Walking is very difficult especially climbing stairs, and unknowingly stepping into floor depression. All fun activities shelved. Fast becoming out of shape for lack of exercise. Surgery discussed but not performed. Not sure of real benefit. Afraid of complications. Cortisone shots, chiros and phy theraps. I'm 57 yrs old. Doctor not optimistic abt healing.

Any idea abt what my knees are worth in a claim. I have a lawyer but he is a conservative gentleman and wont talk money value untill treatment done. I'm real curious. Resident of NE
